Forza Horizon 6 is already becoming a massive success before its full worldwide launch on May 19. The game reached a concurrent player peak of more than 172,000 players on Steam, breaking previous records for the series even though it is currently only available through early access for Premium Edition owners.
New reports now suggest the game may have already generated around $144 million in revenue before full release. According to in-game leaderboard data shared online (via Insider-Gaming), the game already reached nearly 1.2 million active users during the early access period. Since early access is only available to users who buy the $120 Premium Edition, the numbers suggest that revenue had already climbed past the $140 million mark before the full launch even happened.

With the full launch happening tomorrow, the numbers will likely grow even more once players buying the regular edition finally jump in. In addition, a PS5 version is also expected later this year, although the developers still have not shared an exact release date yet.
The huge success also did not come out of nowhere. Before release, estimates already suggested that Forza Horizon 6 had passed 500,000 pre-orders on Steam alone, making it clear that interest around the game was extremely high even before early access started.
It’s also worth noting that the game faced a massive 155GB build leak around two weeks before release. The leaked build reportedly gave access to a playable version of the game, with footage quickly spreading online. Playground Games later confirmed the leak and warned that anyone using the build could face hardware bans and even franchise-wide bans that could block access not only to Forza Horizon 6, but also other games in the Forza series. Despite that, the leak does not seem to have hurt the launch so far. For more Forza Horizon 6 related coverage, keep checking GameObserver.
