The upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine is a PS5 exclusive from Insomniac Games that we know surprisingly little about, despite how long it has been since the game was announced back in September 2021. Four years later in September 2025 we finally got the first gameplay trailer, which confirmed a Fall 2026 release. However, thanks to the Latin American PlayStation Store, we might finally have a clear idea of what month specifically the game launches: September.
This was first spotted over on Reddit by user Carwillat901, but when looking at the PlayStation Store page for Marvel’s Wolverine in Mexico, the release date is described as “the third quarter of 2026” when translated into English. The only overlap between Sony’s designated “Fall” window and the PlayStation Store’s specified “third quarter/Q3” is September, so if both descriptions are accurate then we know the launch month! The only exception would be if the product description is referring to Sony’s fiscal quarter rather than product quarters, but that seems unlikely.

Game developers around the world are bracing for the latter half of the year, as Grand Theft Auto 6 prepares for an enormous launch in November which no game wants to be around for when it drops. As such, a September release date for Marvel’s Wolverine would be a sensible idea, giving it two months of breathing room before Grand Theft Auto dominates all gaming conversation for a good while both before and after its launch.
Hopefully there’s a State of Play coming soon from PlayStation to give us an exact date, but for now it seems like September is a safe bet. We’ll be sure to report on any further updates regarding the launch of Marvel’s Wolverine, so if you’re interested in gaming stories written by humans and for humans, then check back often to GameObserver for more!
