National Geographic launches game division

The esteemed magazine is to develop titles for all major platforms

According to Variety, National Geographic is to launch a full-fledged video game division. The nature magazine has previously released titles featuring its name, but this will be a first for the esteemed periodical.

The new division, called National Geographic Games, will operate within National Geographic’s extended platforms group, headed by senior VP, Paul Levine. Previous video game projects for the magazine include National Geographic Panda, a title developed by Namco Bandai Games.

“This is a terrific way to engage a new generation of consumers and families and to keep our brand relevant to a global audience,” Levine said.
