Shot One Fighters Reveals First Official Gameplay Trailer

From the team at Red Moon Workshop comes a 2.5D roguelite fighting game involving robots. Their first trailer gives you a better insight into the gameplay, roguelite mechanics, and art style. You start by choosing a character and then picking one of many paths to reach a boss. Combat plays out like a fighting game where you connect combos to defeat your opponent without them retaliating. As you progress through a run, you can create a moveset that adapts to your fighting style or helps you plan against future opponents. The trailer also included a preview of the story that evolves with every run, along with a brief introduction of some of the NPCs you meet. Artifacts and consumables are also previewed as items that provide new moves or empower your character. However, you also have artifacts that hinder you in battle. The trailer ended with a one-sided boss fight where the player character was crushed in combat.

You play as Volley, who has broken the seal on an entity known as Paradox. This causes her best friend, Vlad, to vanish into a realm known as the Void. Her initial journey into the Void and subsequent failure result in her waking up in a giant mech. With the help of various allies she meets along the way, she continues her runs to rescue Vlad and make things right. Every run reveals a new part of the story, encouraging you to keep experimenting to find out what works.

Blocking your opponent’s attacks in real-time is crucial to surviving.

Choose your own fighter and select a path, deciding what fights you can take on. Defeating opponents lets you choose a new move from several options, with 100+ moves giving you plenty of variety. While you can earn artifacts based on your choices, there’s also a shop that provides a selection of items for purchase. Do everything you can to prepare for a giant boss that is difficult to overcome. Don’t be discouraged by failures though, as the story reveals itself as long as you make progress every time.

You can watch the trailer to see the game in action and wishlist the game to stay informed of updates.
