Yet another game has been randomly leaked from the Taiwanese ratings board. It happens more often than you’d think! As spotted over on ResetEra, a Switch 2 port of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition has been rated in Taiwan. The Game Rating Board is viewable to the public, with the Dragon Quest XI Switch 2 certification being publicly listed from today for all to see.
It’s hard to imagine a more perfect match for the Switch 2 than Dragon Quest XI, and we’re quite sure Square Enix are aware of that fact. Their recent releases of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake exploded on the Switch 2 in Japan specifically, thanks to combining the convenience of a portable console will the power required to smoothly run more demanding JRPG experiences.

The initial release of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age was actually one of the first games announced for the Switch system, but didn’t release until a year after the console had launched. Its rerelease titled Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition enhanced the base experience even further and did release on Switch, which then sold over 300,000 boxed Switch copies on release week in Japan.
The upgraded power of the Switch 2 would be able to handle Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition even better than its predecessor, so it seems like only a matter of time until this reveal is made official. For now though, it’s still just a listing on a Taiwanese web page, so we’ll wait and report on further confirmation as it comes.
It’s becoming quite a common occurrence for games to be leaked via age ratings boards. We recently had Diablo IV for Switch 2 leaked via the Indonesian Game Rating System, the same one that was behind major 007 First Light plot leaks following a breach.
