The English version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s official artbook has finally been revealed, set to be published by Dark Horse on October 20 later this year! It’s subtitled Secrets of the Zonai, a direct reference to the plot of the game.
Whilst an artbook was previously available, it was exclusive to Japan. The new English adaptation from Dark Horse matches the style of its previous Zelda artbook from Breath of the Wild, which was titled Creating a Champion.
The book contains insight from the developers behind Tears of the Kingdom, guiding readers through the creative process of the Zelda sequel with commentary, flashy artworks and unearthed Zonai secrets from the Zonai Survey Team themselves.

The book contains 472 pages in total, with over 50 pages purely for the illustrations and character art. There’s also almost 300 pages of behind-the-scenes sketches, concept art, storyboards and more, with an additional 80+ pages dedicated to the history of Hyrule and revealing the mysteries of the Zonai. Finally, there’s interviews with the producer Eiji Aonuma, director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and the art director Satoru Takizawa.
As for pricing, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Secrets of the Zonai will cost $60 from most major bookstores, with a Hero’s Edition available for $120. This extra edition includes a slipcase, art print, exclusive cover, cloth map of the Hyrule depths and a Zelda Tear replica.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Secrets of the Zonai releases on October 20 and is available to pre-order now from most major retailers in the United States. It’s available to purchase directly from Dark Horse in eligible markets also.
